I love pasta, it is my downfall for sure. I can never say no to a plate of pasta. My favorite pasta is penne. There is just something about those little tubes of carbs that make me do cartwheels! I have noticed lately that when I do a cartwheel I now see ‘stars’! I need to make a mental note to find another move to do when I get excited. Wait, I better write that down because I don’t remember my mental notes anymore. Wait, where is my pen??? Shoot, what I was I going to write down?! Help!!!!!!
This dish combines chicken, pasta, broccoli, red pepper, onion, garlic, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and feta cheese. Yea, yea, you love me, I know.
I have had so much fun watching the Olympics this past week. If you know me at all, you know I live for the Olympic Women’s Gymnastic Competitions. I don’t talk, I don’t accept phone calls, I don’t cook, I just breathe the Women’s Gymnastics. Well, I have had a ball!!
We have a team of BEASTS…..
They dominated by EIGHT points! That is unheard of. These tiny BEASTS brought home the Gold.
I am not ashamed to say that I cried when they won, I cried during the National Anthem, I cried watching them wave to their fans and family, I was a mess. It was a great day for Team USA!
I have been trying to make this soup for two weeks. Once I start craving something, I cannot stop thinking about it until it is actually in my mouth. Sir Streusel and I have been going non-stop for probably five weeks. Getting his 92 year old mother’s house sold, packing up her house, getting her ready for her next phase of retirement home living, and walking through some personal fires, all I wanted was a bowl of Broccoli Cheese Soup. I mean, I am a girl of simple wants…a bowl of broccoli soup was all this girl needed! Finally, FINALLY, I made a pot of soup this weekend and it was every bit as good as I thought it was going to be. All my wants, needs, frustrations, and cravings disappeared. This soup is very similar to Panera Bread’s Broccoli Soup. It is creamy, cheesy and loaded with onions, broccoli and carrots.
Let the season begin! I love these next few weeks. Decorations, lights, shopping, cooking, baking and counting the hours until every single one of my punks are home for Christmas day!! You may hear this a lot over the next few weeks. I haven’t had all of my punks home at the same time for 2 years. I said 2 YEARS!!!! I am counting the hours until I have them all under one roof. Good times are in my future for sure. I am sharing a side dish with you that my family really enjoys. We enjoy all things fresh and smothered in cheese. My punks definitely inherited my love of cheese. It is topped with panko crumbs to give it that special crunch. Try it before the holidays and then be sure to add it to your menu. You will love it!!
