Easter is Coming!

Yesterday was my birthday and our 36th anniversary.  Thirty-six years with the same man.  Thirty-six years spending my days with the same man.  Thirty-six years looking at the same man.  Thirty-six years cooking for the same man.  Thirty-six years doing laundry for the same man.  Thirty six years laughing with the same man.  Thirty-six years going through all the ups and downs of life with the same man.  Thirty six years of being a very lucky girl!

Of all my birthday wishes yesterday, and I loved each and every one of them, this was my favorite…..hands down.

This and That

A little of this and a little of that is what I am sharing with you today.  I shared with you my version of “Dinner on the Ground.”

I do not recommend this version of the classic “Dinner on the Ground.”

Today I am sharing birthdays, cookies, cupcakes, and a relaxing day with Sir Streusel. Continue reading This and That

Dinner on the Ground…..Literally

Remember Dinner on the Ground that the country churches held on the last Sunday of the month?  Boy, I do!  Great food, fellowship and all you could eat!  Well, Sir Streusel and I had our own little Dinner on the Ground this past weekend….by accident.  I prepared a meal straight off of Betty Crocker’s website.  It sounded so good, mouth watering delicious.  I pulled the baking dish out of Edna, my beloved oven, and set it on my little table by the window to take pictures to share with you.  I’ll just let this next picture speak for itself…….

Chicken Potpie

Saturday was this hunk’s birthday.

I have a serious crush on him.  We just celebrated our 35th anniversary and my birthday, and now we get to celebrate his special day.  I rejoice daily that I was made just for him.  He treats me like a Queen, seriously, he does.  He lives his life to make mine a better one.  He is always respectful, kind, sweet, (so sweet), and funny.  The man makes me laugh, all the time.  I asked him what he wanted for his Birthday meal and he didn’t even stop to think. He responded quickly, “Baby love, all I want is your Chicken Potpie, roasted veggies, and Blackberry Cobbler.”  Well, when that man calls me ‘Baby Love’, I swoon and will cook whatever his heart desires.

A Birthday, An Anniversary and Smothered Chicken

This past weekend was my birthday.   I LOVE my birthday!  I never complain about my age, I am so grateful that the Lord blessed me with another year of great health.   Thirty-five years ago, I married a really cute guy on my birthday.  He was a  great birthday present.  We have been blessed with a great life, great punks (our kids), and great little dogs (the girls).  Now let me be the first to say that these thirty-five years haven’t been one big party, there have been ups and downs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  My favorite part of our marriage is our laughter.  Hey, life it way too short to spend it angry and trying to find fault with someone.  If you aren’t laughing, there is something wrong.
