What a glorious weekend we had in the panhandle. It was picture perfect. The girls, Stella and Paloma, were begging for a puppachinno. My order was: Pumpkin Spice Latte, Vanilla Bean Frappachinno and two Pumpkin Spice Puppachinnos. Yes, our girls are coffee snobs. They know what they want, they know how they want it, and they know exactly how to attack their puppachinno. Observe…….
I know, there is a lot of cuteness in this video. Apparently Pumpkin Spice Puppachinnos are lip smacking good! Continue reading Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
When beef appears on the table, I have a happy man in the house. I don’t eat beef, haven’t eaten it for probably 30 years or more. Therefore, I don’t cook it much. Poor Sir Streusel needs to have his inner cave man satisfied every now and then and I do that with….beef. I place a bowl of stew in front of him and all I hear are grunts, moans and lots of…..”Thank you Baby Love. (grunt, grunt) Really, thank you so much. (grunt, moan) This is so good. (moan, moan) I know you don’t eat this and you did it just for me. (gggrrrruuunnntttt) I just want you to know how much I appreciate it.” Why don’t I treat this man more often?!

This is hands down one of Sir Streusel’s favorite meals. The star of the dish is steak…red meat…beef…caveman food…his love. I don’t eat red meat so anytime I cook it for him, I can literally hear him ‘grunting’. I can also hear him saying between grunts, “Thank you, thank you, this is so good, I can’t get enough of it, what did you bake for dessert?” The steak is cooked in garlic, onion, wine and worcestershire sauce and then surrounded by peppers while it finishes baking. Sir Streusel tells me the flavor and tenderness is to die for, well, maybe to ‘grunt’ for. Let’s don’t die over this dish ok? I couldn’t take it!! The recipe is from Martha Foose. She is the ultimate guru of Southern cooking. She did all the cooking for the movie “The Help”. If you saw the movie, you will remember the food. That movie had me craving fried chicken for days. Prepare this dish and get it on your table. You are sure to hear some grunts. Trust me, that is a good thing.
Enjoy!! Continue reading Pepper Steak
