It’s Christmas at the Sheaffer House

I love Christmas.  I love everything about it but I really love decorating our home for the holiday season.  I start during the end of October because I want to enjoy it during the entire month of November as well as December.  Three weeks just isn’t enough for me to get my full Christmas Spirit!  I am sharing just a few of the decorations in the house.  I didn’t feel that anyone would have the patience to look at EVERYTHING that is decorated in this house.

My three tiered tray made an appearance of course.

I love my tea cart. It does everything but serve tea! It is always decorated for the seasons.

Here is a close up view of the tray.

I have lots of vignettes throughout the house.  These are some of my favorites.

My Gingerbread family.
This is what Christmas is all about.
Mr. and Mrs. Baker Santa!!! So perfect for Edna, my beloved oven, and me.
Love the Christmas Red Truck.

I could play with tablescaping every day. This will probably change tomorrow!
The Nutcracker will always have a place at our table for Christmas. My Ballerina Baby was raised dancing the roles of the Nutcracker Ballet.

I made this tree for our first Christmas together.  Every year Eric says it isn’t Christmas until this little tree is in its place.  It has had a prominent place in our home for 35 years.  This is his very favorite piece of all the decorations.  I love him….swoon

It wouldn’t be Christmas without trees.  When my punks were small I would decorate 5 full size trees.  Now I decorate two.  Remember this, when I am finally blessed with grandpunks, I will be back to decorating nothing less than a forest in our home.

One tree is “Tea and Sweets” and the other is “The Christmas Story”.

I have a lot of fun decorating the “Tea and Sweets” tree.  It’s girly and whimsical and a direct reflection of my life!

Now for the most meaningful piece during the holiday season, the “The Christmas Story” tree.  It represents the birth of Jesus and it has looked exactly the same as when my boys, who are 31 years young, were in diapers.  Oh, it has had ornaments added to it through the years, but always relating to our Savior. I wanted them to know that first and foremost our family celebrates the Birth of Christ.  All of the Santa’s and candy canes are fun and cute, but this tree is what the season is all about.

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

I hope you enjoyed my little tour.  If I showed you everything I decorated it would be a glimpse into my madness!  I hope you have as much fun as I do during the holidays.  Now it is time to get a cup of hot cocoa, relax and look at the lights.

Love ya,

Jody and Edna
