It comes every year. It’s over too soon. I want the day to continue forever. Any day that I can spend with my Ladies of the FOLD is a great day. The FOLD is the name of my Sunday School Class, Following Our Lord Daily. We celebrated our eighth annual tea party this past Saturday. I have been working on it for months. The past three weeks have involved setting the menu, tablescapes, grocery shopping, tea selecting, and all the extras that are involved. It is worth every minute of planning and baking. My home is full of tea, food, teacups, laughing, and wonderful friends. How blessed am ?!
The theme this year was “Soul Sisters”. We are Sisters in Christ and Sisters in Life.
At each place setting, I had a card about being a Sister in Christ.

In each teacup, I had a little reminder of how tea can relate to our daily life.
Of course no tea party is complete without fresh flowers. Sir Streusel surprised me with the flowers for the tables. He has watched me host so many tea parties through the years he could host one!
I love arranging tablescapes. I could spend a large portion of my day playing dress up with my tables. I am easily entertained.
Each table had two three-tiered trays with scones, savories, and sweets….all bite size of course. Obviously, Edna, my beloved oven, didn’t fail me. She worked for two days preparing for the ladies and she was smiling the entire time.
The ladies enjoying tea, food and fellowship.
After we have filled ourselves with food and tea, we have a teacup exchange. After eight years of tea parties, the ladies personal collection of beautiful teacups is growing.
Life gets busy. Life gets complicated. The fact that these ladies take the time out of their hectic schedules every year for a tea party amazes me. I love serving them and making them feel a little special, a little girly, even if it is just for a couple of hours.
I hope you enjoyed our “Soul Sister Tea Party”. Take time, make time to spend with your friends. It will be the best investment of your time you can make.
