I don’t remember being this happy during the Christmas holidays in a very long time. Every single one of my punks made it home. Happy Mama! It was just so perfect having them all home, happy to see one another, eat together, catch up on each other’s lives, eat together, laugh and tell stories, eat together, hug their Mama and Dad, and of course…eat together. The kitchen table is where we migrate every time.
This was our first morning all together. They always admit that is good to come home and let Mama do the cooking. Let’s just say I kept sending Sir Streusel to the store for more eggs and bacon.
Paloma and Stella are happy little girls when their brothers and sisters come home. There are so many more laps to sleep on. Paloma, the pomeranian, loves to wear her pretty little dresses and pose for the camera. Stella, not so much. She HATES her dresses.
Obviously, I couldn’t wait to get the punks together and take a picture. I started with the original three punks; Chase, Paul and Paige. Chase and Paul, twins, were born five minutes apart making Chase the oldest and Paul the baby. Eric, aka Sir Streusel, is a twin. Eric also had a set of twin uncles. My sweet Mama had two sisters and both of them had a set of twins. We were destined for twins. I’m glad we had this talk. Paige, our baby girl, made Paul the middle child, because he was born five minutes after Chase and Paige is now the official baby of the family. Are you with me? Do you need to go take a little pill for the headache you have gotten reading this? Anywho, back to the picture taking. It was a challenge.
It was easier to get this picture of the four dogs than it was of the punks.
Time to get a picture of the original three punks and the two spouses we now have in our family. Again, it was a challenge.
I had purchased a “Selfie Stick” so we could get a picture of all seven of us together. I asked Paige to open the box, put it together and figure out how the contraption works. She had a little too much fun.
Pensacola went all out decorating for Christmas and it was gorgeous! After the picture taking, we took a stroll downtown to see the Christmas lights. I will never get tired of that simple pleasure. Just walking, talking and taking in the lights.
Our Christmas meal consisted of grilled Oysters and a Shrimp Boil. It was great because the four guys did everything, and I mean everything!
Edna and I had a special little gift for the punks this year. Just a little something to help them remember their Mama every morning while they drink their coffee and a reminder of the great meals they are served by Edna when they come home.
I hope your Christmas holiday was everything you wanted it to be and your blessings overflowed! Mine certainly did.
