Ladies of the FOLD Annual Tea Party

Sir Streusel and I are members of the FOLD Sunday School Class at our church, Olive Baptist.  FOLD stands for “Following Our Lord Daily.”  We are a tight knit class, we are…FAMILY.  We celebrate together, we grieve together, we pray together and for each other.  I don’t have family in town so the FOLD is everything to me.  One way I show my love to the ladies in the class is to host our Annual Tea Party. Edna and I host the tea the third Saturday every September.  This year was our 6th Annual Tea.  Every year has had a theme and this year I celebrated Pensacola’s beautiful beach.  Sir Streusel and I are thankful that we were so fortunate to raise our children in this gorgeous city.

One the Tea Party’s tablescapes. All of the shells, except the starfish, were picked up off of Pensacola Beach. Sir Streusel, our baby ballerina, and I spent a summer digging for shells. Lot of work but we found some beauties!
Every beach tablescape needs a beautiful mermaid.

No tea party would be complete without Scones served with Lemon Curd and Devonshire Cream.
Table all set with delicious food and flavorful tea.
Just a few of the danties that Edna and I served. Cupcakes with shell candy toppers, Poppy Seed Mini Bundt Cakes, Brownies with Caramel filling, Salad filled Pasta Shells, Tortellini skewers, Crab Sandwiches, Beach Teddy Mini Trifles.
No one leaves a Tea Party hosted by Jody and Edna hungry.
So many goodies.
I put a ‘Bible Verse Message in a Bottle’ at each place setting.
My lovelies, my friends, my prayer warriors.
My lovelies, my friends, my prayer warriors, my Sisters in Christ. I know I just said that about the previous table.  What can I say, I am blessed to have so many wonderful Christian ladies in my life!
One of the highlights of the tea every year is our annual tea cup exchange. Everyone brings a gift wrapped teacup and we have an exchange. We shop the entire year looking for just the right cup.
Everyone, let me introduce you to the Ladies of the FOLD. I wish everyone could be as fortunate as I am to have such a strong friendship and bond with a group of friends as I have. I know I am richly blessed by having these ladies in my life. They love me…..I love them… very much.

It is always such a fun day.  Edna works hard for this event every year, but never complains.  I give her a couple of days off after the tea to rest and recuperate.  It is my honor to host and serve these ladies every year.  It allows me the chance to love on each one of them just a little bit more and to let them know how important each and everyone of them is to me.
